Samurai Armor Set (Reproduction Do, Kabuto, Menpo)
Full reproduction samurai armor: chest plate (do), helmet (kabuto), and face guard (menpo). I wore gear like this in Throne of Blood and Samurai Trilogy. It changes how you stand, walk, and breathe. Tip: Wear it for an hour before filming -- let your body adapt so the armor disappears.
Public Speaking Masterclass -- The Voice That Cannot Be Ignored
Whether you're addressing a boardroom or a protest march, your voice must carry conviction. I'll teach you pacing, breath control, and how to land a sentence so it stays in the room after you've left. Harry and I spoke at the March on Washington. The microphone helps, but the message does the work.
Japanese Film History Screening & Discussion
We watch one of my films with Kurosawa -- Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, or Ikiru -- and I break down every choice. Camera placement, performance decisions, what was improvised, what was argued about. Small group, max 8. Bring sake or tea.
Film Score Analysis Workshop -- Music as Fear
Bernard Herrmann wrote the Psycho strings, the Vertigo spirals, and the North by Northwest overture. Without his music, my films are half as terrifying. We study how music creates dread, release, and the false sense of safety. Tip: The scariest sound in cinema is silence followed by a single note.
Cold-Water Swimming Coaching -- Morning Discipline
I swam in the Long Island Sound every morning, year-round, into my nineties. Cold water wakes up everything -- your body, your mind, your courage. I'll teach you to breathe, to enter the water without flinching, and to find the joy in discomfort. Tip: The first thirty seconds are terrible. After that, you're alive.
Citizen Kane Annotated Shooting Script
The shooting script with my margin notes. Every camera angle, every lighting note, every argument with Herman Mankiewicz documented in red ink. This is the most studied film in cinema. This is its blueprint. Read it with the film paused beside you.
Stunt Safety & Fall Training Workshop
Before you can do a stunt, you need to know how to fall. We cover breakfalls, rolls, wall hits, and stair tumbles on mats. I've broken nearly every bone in my body -- YOU don't have to. Safety isn't about being careful. It's about being PREPARED. We drill until the landing is automatic.
Prop Weapons Collection (Breakaway Chairs, Rubber Bottles, Foam Pipes)
Sugar glass bottles, balsa wood chairs, foam pipes, rubber bricks -- everything you need for a prop fight scene. I've used more chairs as weapons than any actor in history. They break beautifully on camera and barely sting in person. Barely.
Shakespeare for Screen Actors -- Making the Bard Breathe
I directed and starred in Looking for Richard because Shakespeare terrified me -- and the only way past fear is through it. We work on verse-speaking, iambic pentameter as BREATH not math, and finding the modern man inside the Elizabethan language. Richard III is our text. Bring your courage.
Monologue Coaching -- One Voice, Full Room
Audition monologue, film monologue, stage monologue -- each needs different calibration. I'll coach your piece line by line. We work on breath, beats, subtext, and the moment you stop performing and start LIVING the text. Tip: The best monologue sounds like a conversation with someone who isn't there.
Accent & Dialect Masterclass -- Rebuilding Your Voice
I don't do accents -- I rebuild the architecture of speech. Jaw placement, tongue position, breath pattern, rhythm. We start with the International Phonetic Alphabet, then move to a specific accent of your choice. By the end, you won't be imitating -- you'll be THINKING in that accent. Tip: Record native speakers and transcribe what you HEAR, not what the words say.
August Wilson Scene Study -- American Master
We work scenes from Fences, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and The Piano Lesson. Wilson wrote the poetry of ordinary Black American life with the weight of Shakespeare. I direct these workshops personally. Bring the text memorized -- we're not here to read. We're here to LIVE.
